Product FAQs
What is your wax composed of?
Our wax blend consists of mostly soy wax with a small amount of food-grade paraffin. This formula has been fine tuned to give the ultimate fragrance experience for our customers. While soy wax is highly sought after for its sustainable and natural characteristics, adding paraffin to our wax helps to provide a longer burn time as well as provide a more fragrant experience than a 100% soy wax candle would.
Do you use lead wicks?
Absolutely not. The consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) voted unanimously to ban the manufacture and sale of lead-cored wicks and candles with lead-cored wicks in October of 2003. Capri Blue uses a variety of cotton braided wicks, which are individually chosen based off of fragrance and vessel combination.
Why do some candles use more wicks than others?
The amount of wicks used in a candle is based off of several factors such as the size and shape of the vessel. Some of our larger sized vessels have multiple wicks to ensure you are getting optimal fragrance throw and burn time.
What kind of oil do you use?
Capri Blue uses a combination of natural, essential and synthetic fragrance oils. This allows our fragrances to be very complex and diverse and gives us a wide range of raw materials to choose from when creating new and exciting fragrances. It also allows our fragrances to be more consistent and stable from batch to batch.
Are your candles organic?
Regardless of what some manufacturers may claim, no candle can actually be certified organic. (The solvents used in the hydrogenation process of any natural wax make that physically impossible). That said, our waxes are made from the finest and most highly refined food-grade waxes available!
Are your products gluten-free?
Yes, materials used in the manufacturing of our candles and beauty care products are gluten-free.
Does Capri Blue test on animals?
No, all of our products are cruelty-free. We do not test our products or ingredients on animals.
Are your beauty care products formulated with non-toxic ingredients?
Yes, and we take pride in our all natural vegan beauty care formulation. Our beauty care products are gluten free, paraben free, triclosan free, sulfate free, never tested on animals, and contain no synthetic colors.
Is there a proper way to burn your candles?
Yes! A candle burn is affected by several factors including size and shape of vessel, wick, fragrance oil, temperature/draft in the room, etc. The key to achieving the perfect burn is to always allow your candle to completely liquefy across the top before blowing it out to avoid tunneling. Before each burn, make sure your wick is trimmed to ¼”. Don’t drop debris, like matches or wick trimmings, into the wax. Don’t place your burning candle on sensitive or uneven surfaces. Discontinue burning your candle when about ½” of wax remains. For more info on how to properly burn a candle check out our blog.
What’s the best way to clean out leftover wax?
After your candle is completed, our glass vessels and metal lids can be up-cycled for household use but are not intended for food or beverage use. To remove excess wax, simply place the jar in the freezer. After a few hours you should be able to knock out the leftover wax with a blunt object. Our containers are perfect for plants, jewelry, or catchalls!
What’s the proper way to use a diffuser?
Do not place your diffuser on sensitive or uneven surfaces. To refresh the fragrance, simply flip the reeds. Please remember to always flip the reeds over a paper towel and wipe the bottle to ensure no oil drips onto your surface.
